The storage space on HP’s ML350 G10 server platform supports up to 24 2.5-inch SAS drives, SATA SSDs, HDDs, and even up to eight SFF NVMe PCIe drives. The 2.5-inch chassis configuration has a default drive bay on the bottom of the chassis that supports eight 2.5-inch drives. Two additional drive cages can also be installed, each of which can support eight 2.5-inch drives, bringing the total number of 2.5-inch drives to 24. NVMe drives are only supported in the 2.5-inch chassis and must be installed in the optional middle Express Bay drive bay.
An NVMe kit has two direct PCIe NVMe x4 boards, each of which can support four drives, and with both boards installed, the total number of supported drives reaches eight. There’s also a 3.5-inch drive chassis configuration that supports up to 12 front drives.
